About InnerPort
We built the platform we needed.
InnerPort wasn’t built in a boardroom. It was built by licensed cannabis operators who spent years running real businesses through spreadsheets, group texts, scattered PDFs, and memory — hoping nothing important slipped through.
Why we built it
The breaking point. In a regulated industry, knowing something happened isn’t enough — you have to prove it, on demand, in order, without scrambling. The day you can’t produce a record is the day everything you built is at risk. We learned that the hard way, and we never wanted to be in that position again.
What we did about it. We built the operational management platform we wished we’d had — one place to source material, move it with licensed carriers, run production, and keep proof of every step. Built so a small team can operate like a large organization, and so the business keeps running even when the founder steps away for a few days.

What InnerPort is
A Regulated Operational Management Terminal. That’s the control surface a business runs its day-to-day operations through when those operations are bound by law — one secure console where every action is recorded, time-stamped, and ready to be audited on demand. It’s an established kind of system, not a phrase we invented. Ports and shipping terminals run on a terminal operating system that coordinates everything moving through the yard. The objective is not to replace the systems you already use. It is to ensure that once commerce begins, the journey from order to fulfillment doesn't scatter across disconnected tools. InnerPort becomes the operating layer through which commerce turns into delivery.
Scope & compliance boundary
What InnerPort is. A licensed community exchange and coordination layer for sourcing, brand requests, and regulated transport — priced only when value is created. That's the whole promise, and the product does exactly that today.
What InnerPort verifies today. License numbers are checked against our registry at signup, operators can upload a license document for review, and product listings carry COA fields and — for feedstock — a Metrc package reference.
How verification works. Verification authority stays where the law puts it — with the license holder and the state’s systems. The license holder decides who operates under their license, badges their own people, registers their vehicles, and keeps Metrc current — and InnerPort gives them the tools to grant a co-manufacturer scoped access and revoke it in one click. What InnerPort doesn’t do is independently confirm, in real time, active badge status, vehicle registration, live Metrc sync, or manifest status — those live on the state’s systems and stay the license holder’s responsibility. InnerPort isn’t a seed-to-sale system, an accounting system, or an inspection-readiness tool, and it doesn’t replace your obligations under IDOA, IDFPR, or Metrc. It’s the coordination layer that makes them easier to run — never a stand-in for them.
Your data is yours. The formulas, batches, costs, and customers you put into InnerPort belong to you, and InnerPort never sells anything that can be traced back to you. If InnerPort ever builds market intelligence from the platform, it stays aggregated and anonymized so no single operator can be identified, it’s opt-in, and the operators who contribute share in what it earns. You choose in your account settings — the default is no. Your data is something you get paid for or keep private, never signed away in fine print.
A note on transport distance. Mileage is estimated using third-party mapping services, which means pickup and delivery addresses are sent to those services to calculate distance. We're moving this to a private routing layer as volume grows.

Does InnerPort touch product or money?
No. InnerPort connects licensed parties and coordinates the workflow between them. It does not take possession of product or move funds between participants.
Who can join?
Licensed businesses only. Every account is tied to a license number, verified against a registry and, where applicable, supporting documentation.
Do carriers pay anything?
No. Carriers keep 100% of their rate. The small coordination fee is paid by the shipper who requested the move.
Do I have to leave my current systems?
No. InnerPort is the connective layer between your systems, not a replacement for them. Keep selling and bookkeeping where you do today — InnerPort connects the operational steps in between.
When exactly do I pay?
Only when value is created — a shipment successfully coordinated, or a transaction completed. There is no charge for having an account, browsing, or listing.
Will the fees change as I grow?
The principles won't. Specific caps and protections will be set from real marketplace usage, and always with the intent that growth is never penalized.

How bills get paid. InnerPort never holds or moves your money. You pay each other directly — carriers are paid by shippers, suppliers by buyers, on whatever rails you already use. InnerPort bills only its own small fee, and only on completed activity. No money flows through the platform.

Floors keep small deals viable to coordinate. Caps keep large deals from being penalized. Success should never become a tax on growth.
How fees are calculated
Transport — 1% of the carrier rate, $5 floor / $50 cap. The carrier rate is calculated as miles × $1.60 + stops × $25. The coordination fee is paid by the shipper. Carriers always keep 100% of their rate.
Feedstock Exchange — 0.5% of the completed order, $10 floor / $250 cap. Browsing, listing, and requesting intros are free. The fee applies only when a transaction is completed.
Grow — 1–2% on success (coming). A share only when an opportunity InnerPort helped create becomes real business. No subscriptions, no lead fees.

Floors and caps exist today. As real usage and operator feedback accumulate, InnerPort intends to add further protection so that growing volume never means a disproportionate cost — the principle being the lesser of usage-based fees or a predictable ceiling.
This is a statement of operating intent, not a contractual guarantee. The exact thresholds will be set from actual marketplace data, because numbers chosen before real activity are guesses. The principles stay constant; the mechanics are informed by reality.
